This old hotel is very basic. It is rather less charming than its next-door neighbor, Aquila D'Oro , and its "amenities" consist entirely of toilet paper and one towel, but it's cheap. Marked by 1950s-style furnishings, the simple, high-ceiling rooms are a bit dowdy but offer solid, old-fashioned comfort (unfortunately, some beds still bear the sags left by generations of travelers). Its selling point: Those rooms in the front come with stunning views over the Piazza Duomo. For the reception, walk around the corner to the "unofficial" entrance, on Piazza Duomo, to find someone to check you in. Note: Though the hotel's official name is now Hotel Garni, the name painted on the side of the building still says HOTEL VENEZIA (since it's a historic landmark, they can't change the outside!).
