Getting There
By Air -- The nearest major airport, at Stuttgart, has good connections to Tübingen, including a direct bus link.
By Train -- The Stuttgart-Tübingen rail line offers frequent service. Tübingen also has good rail ties to other major cities in Germany, including Frankfurt (trip time: 3 1/2 hr.), Berlin (trip time: 11 hr.), and Hamburg (trip time: 8 1/2 hr.). For information, call tel. 01805/996633.
By Bus -- Because of Tübingen's position astride some of the major rail lines of central Europe, most visitors get here from other parts of Germany by train. But if you're committed to the idea of bus transport in and out of town, contact Deutsche Touring GmbH in Frankfurt (tel. 069/46092780) for a schedule about the buses that service Tübingen and its surrounding region.
By Car -- Access is via Route 27 west from the A8 Autobahn running east and west, or via Route 28 east from the A81 Autobahn running north and south.
