With its contemporary Southwestern decor, menu of creative contemporary fare and updated comfort foods, superb views of the city far below, and expansive terrace for alfresco dining, The Gold Room is one of the best places in Tucson for a memorable Southwestern dining experience. Think jerked chicken with prickly pear-jalapeño glaze, sugar-and-spice scallops with truffle risotto, and beef tenderloin served with house-made green-chile tater tots. The length of the wine list is staggering, and there's a welcome range of prices. Desserts are decadently rich, so be sure to save room. Although you can eat here on the cheap at lunch, the restaurant is most remarkable at night, when the cityscape of Tucson twinkles in the distance.
