Golf is the name of the game at this boutique resort set within a gated country-club community at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The third hole of the resort's Tom Fazio-designed Mountain Course plays across a deep ravine, which makes it one of the most photographed holes in Tucson. Though small, this exclusive lodge offers plenty of big-resort amenities and places an emphasis on personal service. The accommodations are in spacious suites, most of which have walls of windows facing the Catalinas, modern mission-style furnishings, small kitchens, and large bathrooms with oversize tubs (some are even old-fashioned footed tubs). All the rooms were renovated in 2006. A few units have balconies, cathedral ceilings, and spiral stairs that lead to sleeping lofts.
