The fine dining room at the Hotel Grand Pacific is a small, candlelit haven. Here you can enjoy highly personalized service, delicious food prepared with locally grown ingredients, and fine wines chosen by an astute sommelier. To sample the best of everything, try the six-course seafood tasting menu, priced at C$70 (US$59/£31), or C$112 (US$95/£50) with wine pairings. The menu might start with smoked oyster bisque, followed by a Dungeness crab and tomato salad, spiced scallops and octopus confit, a palate-cleansing rhubarb and gin ice, albacore tuna sashimi, and three different kinds of chocolate. The a la carte menu features meat dishes such as smoked tenderloin and venison striploin. The hotel's casual Pacific Restaurant is also a good choice for lunch or dinner, with nicely done dishes such as West Coast seafood linguine, vegetarian pizzas, and high-quality steak and lamb. The Pacific has a great outdoor patio overlooking the harbor.
