Frommer's Review
Victoria's oldest hotel (built in 1876), formerly known as the Dominion, has changed its name and is undergoing some much-needed renovations. The hotel is never going to be glamorous, but the rooms have been considerably upgraded and are a good value for the location. Keep in mind that this is an old building; some rooms look out into window wells; and the furnishings, though new, can be on the dark and drab side (supposedly the color schemes are going to be enlivened in the near future). Some larger suites with fireplaces face into the interior courtyard and feature small wrought-iron balconies.
Facilities:
Coffee shop; same-day laundry and dry-cleaning service; nonsmoking hotel
