On a forested mountain slope high above a fjord about half an hour from town, this Mediterranean-inspired villa enjoys a spectacular view. A member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux association, The Aerie is one of the most luxurious retreats you'll find on Vancouver Island, though some may find the European-inspired decor and design a bit over-the-top. Accommodations are in three separate buildings, including the newly completed Villa Cielo, which offers the most amazing views of all. All rooms include big comfortable beds with top-quality linen, and all but the lowest-priced Deluxe rooms include a soaker tub for two (sometimes right in the middle of the room). As you move into the master and residence suites, you get private decks and fireplaces. An on-site full-service spa offers a variety of aesthetic treatments. Dining is an integral part of the experience, and The Aerie restaurant is among the best on the island. A full breakfast is included in the room rate.
