Nightlife

Komiza is party central for singles on Vis, while Vis Town's action is more family oriented. Aquarius Bar on Kamenica beach in Komiza is the island's summer headquarters for mingling under the moon. It is really the only place dedicated to serious partying, and it is open 24/7 July and August only (tel. 095/902-7701). Zadruga is another Komiza hot spot, but tamer than Aquarius. It has a fine location next to the town wine press where locals deposit their grapes at harvest time, and it's decorated with antique winemaking equipment. Zadruga is the most sophisticated and expensive watering hole on the island (tel. 021/713-023; daily 8am-2pm). Vis Town's bars are mostly alfresco and concentrated along the waterfront promenade. Caffe Bar Biliba in the Luka section of Vis Town attracts a large crowd, perhaps because it also has Internet services and big-screen TV (tel. 021/717-475; daily 7am-11pm). No credit cards are accepted.
