Planning a Trip

Getting There -- Wells has good bus connections with surrounding towns and cities. Take the train to Bath and continue the rest of the way by First Bristol bus no. 173. Departures are every hour Monday through Saturday and every 2 hours on Sunday. Bus no. 376 runs between Bristol and Glastonbury every hour daily, with a stop at Wells each way. If you're driving, take the M4 west from London, cutting south on the A4 toward Bath and continuing along the A39 into Wells.

Visitor Information -- The Tourist Information Centre is at the Town Hall, Market Place (tel. 01749/672552; www.wellstourism.com), and is open daily November to March from 10am to 4pm and April to October from 9:30am to 5:30pm.
