Thermal Baths -- Kaiser Friedrich's Therme, Langgasse 38-40 (tel. 0611/1729660), is big, modern, and well maintained. These baths are famous within Germany for their ability to soothe the aches and pains of arthritis, gout, indigestion, and other ailments induced by age and everyday stress. The saunas and thermally heated swimming pools are open daily from 10am to 10pm (until midnight Fri). Admission costs 3.50€ ($5.60) per hour in summer, going up to 5€ ($8) per hour in winter. Remember that the venue here involves at least partial nudity (in the saunas, perhaps with a towel, although in the pools, it's usual to wear a bathing suit) for both men and women, who mingle freely within the facilities. Tuesday, however, is reserved only for women. The thermal baths sit within a centrally positioned park whose landscaping includes hundreds of seasonal flowers.
