Frommer's Review
After a renovation that added a bar and an even more sophisticated ambiance, abbicci, which means "the basics" in Italian, continues to draw accolades. Look for the mustard-yellow Cape Cod cottage and let a valet park your car. You enter into a sleek bar area where you can eat dinner, or wait for a seat in the dining rooms. This restaurant is very popular in the summer, so choose an off-time for dinner if you want to get seated promptly. The efficient waitstaff delivers delicious, artfully prepared, innovative dishes. On the menu, you'll find seafood dishes, as well as veal, lamb, and, of course, pasta, all in a delicate Northern Italian style. You'll relish the luxurious flavors, like those found in the herb-crusted lamb with polenta or the halibut with truffle emulsion. The tapas menu, served in the afternoons, features small dishes priced from $6 to $10. From 3:30 to 5:30pm, an early evening dinner menu is available featuring a three-course meal with pasta, steak, chicken, and fish entrees priced from $21 to $23. Light eaters will love the fact that you can order many of the main courses as half-portions for about $10 off the price.
