Frommer's Review
Most of the week, this place operates like a well-oiled, mostly heterosexual club where teeny-boppers release pent-up energy, and where recent divorcés mingle and flirt and sometimes get lucky. Upcoming musical venues are scheduled online (www.laborbar.ch) several months in advance, and if you happen to be caught in the flashbulbs of the resident paparazzi, it's likely that it will be posted on the Internet within a day or two. But every Sunday night, beginning around 7pm, the place goes gay, and if a recently divorced (presumably heterosexual) single happens to wander in, he or she usually tends to have a marvelous time. And in some instances, a radio commentator might be broadcasting an overview of recent cultural and nightlife events from the floor of this place, for all of trend-conscious Zurich to hear. Entrance is usually free for these "Trash Sundays," and beers cost around 7F ($5.75/£3) each. Open Friday and Saturday from 10pm to 3am, Sunday 9pm to 2am.
