Frommer's Review
This is the most unusual bar in Zurich, with memorabilia gathered in the wake of the bankruptcy of Swissair in 2001 (a cataclysm that shocked and deeply wounded, it's been said, the national psyche of Switzerland). A small group of pilots and flight attendants saved what they defined as the "essence" of the Swissair spirit, airline seats removed from the first-class cabins of Boeing 747s and MD-11s formerly associated with the airline, and some of the battered aluminum carts that a generation of stewards rolled up and down the aisles.
And if you have an ongoing obsession about meeting the flight attendant of your dreams, there's likely to be a bigger concentration of them on a hard-drinking Friday or Saturday night than at any equivalent bar in Zurich. Drinks cost 16F ($13/£6.80) each, and include cocktails with names like Sex on the Wings, Jet Lag, Turbulence, and Grounding. Don't overlook the viability of this place as a lunch or dinner stopover, since rib-sticking platters, priced at 17F-19F ($14-$16/£7.30-£8.30) each, are served Monday to Friday noon to 2pm and 5 to 10pm. Bar hours are Monday to Thursday noon to midnight; Friday and Saturday noon to 2am, and Sunday 2 to 10pm.
