Logan was once known as "The Athens of the West" for its cultural slate, and the tradition is still going strong. Main St. (tel. 435/752-0026; www.centerforthearts.us), a dazzling piece of restoration. Recent productions have included such operas as Pagliacci, Camelot, and The Mikado. One of the few true repertory companies anywhere, the Old Lyric Repertory Company, 28 W. Center St. (tel. 435/752-1500 or 797-8022 for the box office; www.usu.edu/lyric), founded at Utah State University in 1967, presents a variety of comedies, dramas, and musicals, with equity actors, during its 8-week summer season.
