Alexis Lipsitz Flippin

Alexis Lipsitz Flippin lives in the Flatiron District of New York City. She has visited Europe, southern Africa, Canada, and the Caribbean.

She has a B.A. in Journalism from USC and graduated from the NYU Publishing Institute. She was given first-place awards for reporting, feature writing, and photography from the N.C. Press Association and the N.C. Press Club.

She has been a Google Trips and Google Maps Content Creator and has written for CNN.com, MSNBC.com, Self, American Health, British Airways, the Wall Street Journal, Zagat.com, Frommers.com, and many more.

She is the author of several Frommer's guides, including Frommer's Virgin Islands, Frommer's Turks & Caicos, Frommer's St. Martin, St. Barts & Anguilla, Frommer's New York City with Kids, and Frommer's NYC Day by Day.

She also wrote Food Lover's Guide to Manhattan (Globe Pequot) and Delta Style (St. Martin's Press) and coauthored Cabin Tripping (Artisan; with J.J. Eggers), The Plant Medicine Protocol (Artisan; with Dr. William Siff), How to Sleep (Workman; with Dr. Rafael Pelayo), and Vino Argentino! (Chronicle; with Laura Catena).

Her areas of expertise as a journalist include travel, health, food, culture, and long-form investigative pieces.
