Ashley Brantley

Ashley Brantley

Author of Frommer's Nashville and Memphis

Ashley Brantley has been writing about food, travel, and culture for more than 15 years. Having lived in three of Tennessee’s four major cities, Brantley loves her home state—and loves writing about it. She is the author of Frommer's Nashville and Memphis.

After earning an English degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a master's in journalism from the University of Memphis, she made Nashville her home. Brantley currently lives in The Nations neighborhood with her husband (a chef who loves running, traveling, and seeing live music), her daughter (a bright, vibrant toddler and force to be reckoned with) and her dog (an 11-breed, 13-pound mutt who looks like a stuffed animal but believes himself to be a rottweiler).

When Brantley's not writing about food, culture, and entertainment for the Nashville Scene, you can find her planning her next family vacation, seeing a Jason Isbell show, volunteering at Our Kids (a Nashville nonprofit that helps children and families affected by sexual abuse), or watching truly terrible reality TV. Follow her on LinkedIn here.
