Christie Pashby’s writing about the travel industry and sustainable tourism has been featured on BBC Radio, in The Guardian UK, The Toronto Star, The Globe & Mail, Financial Times (UK) and on NBC television. She has authored or co-authored more than 10 guidebooks.

As a journalist, she worked in newsrooms and as a stringer and fixer. She has also worked in film production in a variety of roles, from fixer to director, for more than 10 years. In 2017, she was a finalist for the CBC Non-Fiction Prize. As a marketer, she was chief storyteller for a large global travel brand, responsible for all aspects of copy and storytelling. Now, she is focused on helping non-profit and for-impact organizations expand their reaches and do more good.

She has lived in Canmore, Alberta, just outside Banff National Park for 26 years. She has also previously lived in Patagonia, Argentina during which time she contributed to Frommer’s ChileFrommer’s Argentina and Frommer’s South America. She has a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University, a Bachelor of Journalism from University of King’s College, and a really cute dog named Breezy.
