Jeff Lunden

Jeff Lunden is a freelance arts reporter and public radio producer whose work is featured on NPR. He is also a theater composer whose adaptation of Arthur Kopit's 'Wings' (with Arthur Perlman) played at New York's Public Theater and the Goodman Theater in Chicago.

Jeff Lunden is a Brooklyn-based freelance arts journalist who contributes to public radio programs, from NPR’s news magazines to PRX’s The World to Marketplace.  He’s produced over a dozen radio documentaries on Broadway and Tin Pan Alley for NPR and the series, Discoveries at Disney Hall, for NPR Music, picking up several New York Festival radio and CPB awards.  He contributed to NPR’s Peabody Award-winning series, the NPR 100.  Lunden has also written features for Frommer’s, Symphony Magazine, and Barron’s.

He enjoys international traveling and has been to Canada, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, England, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Morocco, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Australia and China, over the years.  He contributed a story about visiting Marrakech for Frommers.com and several stories about going on a bike/barge trip through Holland and Belgium for The Savvy Traveler.  Lunden began traveling internationally in college and will always take a window seat, if he can get it.

Lunden received a BA in English from Oberlin College and an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU.  He wrote the score for the Lucille Lortel Award-winning musical, Wings, which was produced at New York’s Public Theater and the Goodman Theatre in Chicago.  Other shows include Another Midsummer Night at the Goodman and several musicals for Theatreworks/USA.  He’s contributed incidental music for the plays Arcadia and Syncopation, at various regional theatres, and incidental music for many Theatreworks productions, as well.
