Joey Skladany

Joey is a writer/editor, TV/radio personality, lifestyle expert, former entertainment publicist, and author of Basic Bitchen. He is a monthly contributor for the Today show, rotating cohost on Taste of Taylor, and was most recently editor-at-large of CBS Interactive's Chowhound, where he managed the site's food and travel editorial content.

Currently, he is owner and CEO of BRB Screaming LLC (formerly Beyond Basic LLC). His written work is frequently featured in major outlets such as People, Veranda, Southern Living, Condé Nast Traveler, Food & Wine, and Travel + Leisure. In addition, he was host of Awesomeness TV's Dish This, Verizon Media's In the Know: Live Cooking, and has appeared on Tamron Hall, The Wendy Williams Show, Entertainment Tonight, CNN, HLN, NBC, CBS, SiriusXM, and other networks and stations.

Prior to a career in writing, he was a publicist for TLC, serving as the PR lead for the network's highest-rated series like Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, My Strange Addiction, and My Crazy Obsession.

Joey attended Northwestern University, receiving a B.A. in Communication Studies with a minor in Theatre. He graduated cum laude after making Dean's List every quarter and was named a Northwestern, Toledo Trust Company and Communication Century scholar. He also completed an honors thesis on the branding of broadcast journalists and was a member of the Undergraduate Leadership Program.

Joey is currently based in Chicago. In his spare time, he enjoys volleyball, worshipping Beyoncé, fine dining, writing depressing poetry, interior design, and perfecting his stand-up comedy routine.
