Lisa Maloney
Lisa is a seasoned travel and adventure writer based in Anchorage, Alaska. She's lived there for more than 35 years and has spent much of that time traveling extensively throughout the state, first for exploration and personal growth, then more deliberately as research for her guidebooks and hundreds of travel articles, which have been published everywhere from local newspapers to National Geographic, Condé Nast Traveler, the New Zealand Herald, the Wall Street Journal, Porthole Cruise and Travel, Frommer's of course, and many more.
Lisa specializes in experiential travel over all else, with a focus on outdoors, adventure, solo travel and "slow" travel. She would rather stay a week in an off-grid farm than rush from one photo op to the next in a big city. With that said, she's eternally curious about other places and cultures, and finds every glimpse into other peoples' ways of life, whether urban or rural, for a short time or a long time, to be a privilege.
