Float Over Dubai in the World’s Highest Infinity Pool with Wraparound Views

You can now take a soak while soaking in limitless views of Dubai's over-the-top skyline at a new infinity pool suspended more than 650 feet above the United Arab Emirates metropolis.

Billed as the "world's highest 360-degree infinity pool," the Aura Skypool is now officially open on the 50th floor of the Palm Tower on Palm Jumeirah, the giant archipelago of manmade isles dotted with futuristic towers housing luxe hotels, restaurants, and beach resorts.

Day guests at the Aura pool get prime, wraparound views encompassing the islands, the Persian Gulf, and landmarks such as the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab hotel and the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.

You can swim amid the skyline or watch the water flow into the horizon from a lounger on the 8,000-square-foot pool deck encircling the building. The attraction's creators, Dubai-based Sunset Hospitality, have also installed a bar and lounge serving Asian fare.

The pool is open daily from 10am to sunset. Tickets, which start at AED 170 ($46), can be booked for morning, afternoon, or all day. Each reservation gets you a daybed, lounge access, and a "bespoke welcome pack."

As the Daily Mail points out, the Palm Tower also has a new St. Regis hotel on the lower floors and a more traditional observation deck, The View at The Palm, two stories up (separate ticket required).

But if you can't do the breaststroke through the clouds, why even bother?
