Same Time, Next Year—for 20 Years: Win a Free Annual Mexican Vacation

How do you like the idea of a free luxury vacation on Mexico's Caribbean coast for your first post-pandemic getaway? How about repeating the experience every year for the next two decades of post-pandemic getaways?

That dream scenario will become reality for the winners of a contest organized by hotel developers and tourism boards in Mexican Caribbean destinations including Cancún, Cozumel, Tulum (pictured above), Playa del Carmen, and other slices of paradise on the Riviera Maya

As part of the #Come2MexicanCaribbean (or, in Spanish, #VenAlCaribeMexicanoX2) social media campaign, participants can enter to win an annual all-inclusive vacation for two people at 4- and 5-star resorts for the next 20 years.

Starting in 2021, the winner will get a gift certificate to redeem for a 5-night stay at a participating resort—and that will keep happening every year until 2041.

To enter, you'll need to be an Instagram or TikTok user who's at least 18 years old. Post photos or videos to either platform (or both) showing off the glories of the Mexican Caribbean. Use the hashtag #Come2MexicanCaribbean in the caption and tag the @Come2MexicanCaribbean account, which you'll also need to follow.

You can post as many times as you like, and you can enter via both platforms—but there will be one winner for Instagram and one for TikTok, and it won't be the same person.

According to the contest rules, the content that gets the most "visible reactions (plays, likes, comments, etc), will be the winner."

The contest is open now and closes November 9. Winners will be announced November 27.

Participants must be from Canada, the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, or Argentina.

The hotels that winners will get to choose from haven't been revealed, but the Atelier Group is one of the organizations behind the contest, so it's safe to assume at least some of the developer's all-inclusive resorts in Cancún, Isla Mujeres, and elsewhere will be options.

The competition is a smart way to promote tourism in the region, which has reopened to international travelers but has struggled to regain visitor numbers amid Covid-19.

The social media campaign aims to stir up memories of the coast's beauty, inspiring future vacations and getting weeks of free PR into the bargain.

Instagrammers and TikTokkers, meanwhile, stand to gain 20 years' worth of beach escapes.

If there was ever a time to become a travel influencer, this is it.
