Planning a trip to Alcala de Henares

Commuter trains (Cercanías) run every 15 to 30 minutes from Madrid’s Atocha station to Alcalá de Henares (lines C2 and C7). A one-way trip costs 4.05€ and takes about 40 minutes. Buy your ticket from machines at the station. A special Cervantes train operates on Saturdays in spring and autumn with actors in quixotic costume, costing 22€ for adults, 16€ for children 7–11, free for children under 7. Buses (Line 223) from Madrid depart from the Avenida de América interchange (metro: Avenida de América) every 15 minutes. One-way costs 5€. From Madrid airport, take bus number 824.

By car, take the A-2 toward Zaragoza and exit at junction 28
