This is one of the oldest and biggest wine estates in Sardinia, with beautifully maintained grounds, multilingual tours of the cellar, a wine shop and tasting room, and a surprisingly good museum. Don't let the moderate prices in the wine shop (bottles from 4€) mislead you: Sella e Mosca is a serious winemaker; the Cannonau D.O.C. is well balanced, spicy, and herbal -- even fuller-bodied are the cab-Cannonau blend, Tanca Farrà, and the 100% cabernet Marchese di Villamarina. Also, try the wonderfully versatile and hot-weather-friendly Terre Bianche. It's made from the white torbato, a temperamental but lovely grape that isn't grown anywhere else in Italy.
