IBIS Styles Amiens Centre

Yes, this is a chain. But Ibis have done a lot to revamp their style in recent years, and they carry it off rather well in this 3-star by the train station.  Outside the façade is stripy pink; inside rooms are vintage-chic with boldly patterned green carpets that offset the slick grey furnishings. Upper-floor rooms have balconies with sweeping views over the rooftops to the cathedral. Some family rooms include a cool fury swing seat. Amiens has plenty of eateries, but if you did decide to eat in, you could do worse than at Corso, the hotel’s Italian restaurant, dressed up like a funky loft, with a cocktail bar to boot (main courses around 17€; fixed-price menu 22€).
