Local reggae star Bankie Banx and friends constructed this supremely fun and funky beach bar out of mismatched driftwood, salvaged boats, and beached flotsam, in the grand old tradition of beach shacks everywhere. It's perched on the edge of Rendezvous Bay (right next to the CuisinArt resort) and has been rebuilt not once but four times after being demolished by hurricanes—most recently in 2008, when Hurricane Omar swept by. Banx often joins in the live music performances here. Dune Preserve hosts a barbecue every Friday from 7:30 to 9:30pm, and on Sunday you can listen to live music from 1 to 6:30pm. Banx's annual Moonsplash Music Festival is held here every March.
