The Garrison House Inn

This 1854 registered heritage property faces Fort Anne in the heart of the town center and has an excellent restaurant. Rooms give the feel of the Victorian era without the usual froufrou; instead, you’ll find pretty floral wallpapers, comfy beds, and pine floors overlaid with hook rugs. The only one we don’t recommend is that attic bedroom, which it quite small, and requires climbing two sets of stairs. While the inn is close to the main road into town, traffic is very light. Still, if you’re sensitive to noise, ask for a room overlooking the back yard rather than the street. Breakfast (included) is tasty and hearty.
