A tour de force of precision, perfection, luxury, and location. The world’s A-list descend upon the Hotel du Cap’s signature restaurant during the Cannes Film Festival, and don’t depart until the Riviera’s classiest hotel closes in October. Menu items under the stewardship of head chef Arnaud Poëtte are as good looking as their film star diners. A rosette of roasted John Dory is adorned with Japanese tapioca pearls and Tosazu seaweed. Even the crab salad is interwoven with crushed coriander, green apple, and wasabi sorbet. Desserts from pâtissier-chocolatier Lilian Bonnefoi lend a new definition to the word profligate. A shade less formal—but still awash with glitterati and glamour—is the Eden-Roc Grill. It overlooks the Lérins Islands from an unbeatable position on the very pinnacle of the Cap d'Antibes.
