It's a 10-minute boat trip to reach this luxury island retreat, a ride you may be sharing with moguls and captains of industry and their well-tended broods. Jumby Bay is one of Rosewood's boutique collection of tastefully high-end hotels, and a $28-million renovation in 2010 only ratcheted up the luxe factor. This all-inclusive resort, alone on its own 300-acre island, has just about anything you might desire, from a full-service spa (Sense) to tennis courts with resident pros to a creative lineup of supervised children's activities that includes a hawksbill turtle conservation program. You can even request personal bicycles to roam the meandering bike paths and explore sugar-mill ruins—blessedly, the island has no cars. The resort's beaches are simply breathtaking, powdery white sand lapped by azure seas.

In addition to the 40 hotel doubles and suites, the resort manages a collection of multi-bedroom, sky's-the-limit villas (17), beach homes (3), and estate homes (12). But even the basic hotel units, the Rondavel cottages, are utterly fab, with private courtyards and outdoor rain showers. Rondavel One-Bedroom Suites, the next step up, have separate living rooms and wraparound terraces, while the 1,346-sq.-ft. Pool Suite has its own private pool. The décor throughout is colonial-elegant, with fourposter king beds, Italian linens, and Nespresso machines. With a on-site staff of 250 at your beck and call, you will want for little at Jumby Bay.
