With a name like this a hotel had better be stylish, and these good-sized and gracious rooms deliver on the promise, bringing flair (without sacrificing comfort) to centuries-old surroundings. Stone walls and beams accent rooms where huge soaking tubs are tucked behind glass headboards, enormous showers have windows, and sitting areas are set into alcoves. Plenty of nice traditional comforts include rich fabrics, fine carpets, and handsome wood furnishings, individually chosen for each room. Some rooms also provide a decidedly untrendy and timeless view of the town’s towers and rooftops, and all the sights are just steps away.
