Decatur continues to impress with its wealth of restaurants and bars situated around its quaint square. The Brick Store Pub is one of the most popular, probably because it oozes old-world charm. It also features one of the most eclectic beer menus in Atlanta, with imports from Germany, England, and even the Czech Republic, along with homegrown Georgia brews like Red Brick Holy Brother, Sweetwater, and Blue Tarp Fun Weisse, straight out of Decatur. Upstairs there's the Belgian Bar, exclusively dedicated to beers from Belgium. The pub sells more than 70 kinds of bottled beers and wine as well, but for the liquor-lovers among us, there is an impressive number of single-malt scotches, Irish whiskeys, and small-batch bourbons. The menu is standard pub fare like fish and chips or shepherd's pie, alongside fancier dishes like baked brie, pierogies, or butterbean hummus. You could get by just ordering a couple rounds of appetizers, like pimento cheese and pickles, or the Tittle Pop, bourbon caramel popcorn with roasted pecans and peanuts. Sit around the horseshoe bar for a real pub experience, or nab one of the outdoor tables. Tip: If you're not keen on crowds, you'd be better off hitting Brick Store on a weekday, particularly as reservations are not accepted.
