It’s entirely befitting that, as one of the very best hotels in Donegal, Rathmullan House ★★★ would also have one of its best restaurants. Many of the ingredients have come no greater distance than the house’s own gardens, and most of the rest haven’t traveled all that much farther. The menu changes daily but expect dishes such as Mulroy Bay scallops with cauliflower puree, or free-range Glin Valley roast chicken with parsnip puree and chard. If you’re not in the mood for a formal dinner, head to the hotel bar for a more casual menu of sandwiches, burgers, and stone-baked pizza.
