Baltimoreans were heartbroken when this Mount Washington haunt burned in 2011 but the new tavern was worth the wait. It's very similar to the original, with a big open bar, an airy garden room, and a Preakness-themed dining room— but the finishes are now first class. And the updated menu is worthy of the bright new spaces. Locally sourced vegetables, meats, and seafood are used in their traditional tavern fare. Seasonal salads are a treat, especially the fried-green tomato Caprese salad. Their burgers are big and juicy and at dinner, both the seafood and the steaks garner rave reviews. Brunch is served on Sunday and the bar keeps serving until 2am.
