Bangkok isn't known for being particularly child-friendly and there a lack of spots specifically geared towards entertaining kids. But out near the Chatuchak Weekend Market (p. ###) is an attraction just for the two-to-12 set. The highlights for most children are the dinosaur discovery section, where bones are buried in the sand for young archeologists to excavate and reassemble, and an outdoor splash pad and water playground with jets and fountains. A handful of exhibits were closed during our last visit and, mystifyingly, some sections had signs asking kids not to touch. But even with a few missteps, the free museum is worth checking out—especially when timed with a weekend trip to the neighboring market.
