Casa Bonay

This independent boutique hotel, in an 1869 Neoclassical mansion, is a buzzy spot with several bars and restaurants attracting a local crowd—notably at Libertine, a lunch and coworking space by day and cocktail lounge by night. Each soundproofed room has a slightly different layout, but all feature original details like patterned tile floors, high ceilings, and tall windows. Some overlook busy Gran Via, others face a quiet internal courtyard. Rattan wall coverings and cane chairs on the balconies give it a relaxed, tropical feel, which continues on the guest-only roof terrace, with a seasonal beach-shack bar and grill. The hotel is well located for both Eixample and the old city.
