At the upper end of Les Rambles near the Plaça de Catalunya, these self-sufficient apartments, constructed in 1994, were renovated and completely refurnished in late 2013. With gray wood floors, muted earth-toned bedspreads and draperies, dark wood furniture, large showers in the bathrooms, and fully equipped if compact kitchens, even the smallest of these units is twice the size of most hotel rooms. The kitchen makes it easy (and cheaper) to prepare breakfast and gives you an excuse to shop at La Boqueria. The location, just steps from the Plaça del Pi in the Barri Gòtic, is prime. The Aparthotel has two buildings that share a gym and coin-op laundry. There’s no minimum stay, but prices per night decline with longer bookings.
