Designer Rosa Roselló finally brought some whimsy to the dark wood and chocolate fabrics design aesthetic so prominent in contemporary Barcelona business hotels. At the Europark, she outfitted the beds in spreads with broad stripes, almost like awning material, and followed through with a zebra pattern on the upholstered chairs, so the boxy rooms—she couldn’t move the walls!—provide an intriguing visual experience. The location—roughly a 10-minute stroll to the main Modernista monuments on Passeig de Gràcia or to La Sagrada Familia in the opposite direction—commands a lower price than you'd expect for the quality and comfort here.
