If the bright colors of the decor in this new hotel remind you of a summertime fruit salad, you're thinking like the designer. Since it's right next to La Boqueria, the hotel employs a Mediterranean fruit and vegetable palette and even has a lobby mural depicting broccoli and carrots. That's Barcelona whimsy. The 19th-century building has been transformed into a compact hotel of 30 rooms of very modest dimensions and minimalist decor. The location is great, and the new construction is almost soundproof. All rooms either overlook Les Rambles or La Boqueria and all have pocket balconies or terraces.
