Hotel Praktik Bakery
Each of the five hotels in Barcelona’s Praktik chain has its own theme. This one claims to be the world’s only hotel-bakery, sharing its space with the city’s famous panadería, Baluard, for a yeast-scented reception. Its all-white, minimalist rooms are on the small side, with subway tiles and clapboard headboards. The bathrooms are tiny and a little awkward, but the showers are powerful. Although a bakery is included in your stay, oddly the delicious breakfast pastries are not. Elsewhere in this quirky chain, Praktik Garden (Carrer de la Diputació, 325) has a pretty plant-filled courtyard terrace and Praktik Vinoteca (Carrer de Balmes, 51) offers wine tastings.
