Even if the interior is a hippy-era retro version of a Modernista original, the ambience of this little restaurant, which is literally in the shadow of the church of Santa Maria del Mar, feels authentic and warm. We like the gimmick of printing the menu on wine labels (the short wine list here features local bottles at good prices). Owners Sam and Joan make diners feel welcome, and the comfort-food dishes fill the soul and the belly. Eggs feature prominently, variously paired with salt cod and spinach, octopus and kimchi, and bacon and fries.
