This cooking school and private kitchen serves up one of the best communal dining experiences in town. The twice-weekly dinners, known as Wine & Dine events, offer a 10-course meal paired with free-flowing imported wine. Set in a renovated courtyard with an open kitchen and dining room, Black Sesame provides a front-row seat to Chinese cuisine, as the chefs prepare the meal before your eyes in the spacious kitchen. There's no menu, but signature dishes include pan-fried pork and pumpkin dumplings, fried shiitake mushrooms seasoned with bamboo shoots and coriander, and cashew kung pao chicken. Diners can inform the kitchen ahead of time if they have any dietary preferences or restrictions. The communal dinners seat up to 24 guests. Those who want to dive in more deeply can take the cooking classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. These events are highly popular and reservations are essential. For those wanting to set up a private dinner, advance booking is available.
