This famed Taiwanese chain specializing in xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) lives up to its reputation at this sparkling outpost in Beijing. Biting into the delicately thin skin of the dumplings brings a sharp burst of flavorful broth and meaty filling. There's a variety of stuffings, but if you're lucky enough to be here during the right season, the hairy crab dumplings are stellar. If you like wonton soup, that's also well done here. This branch (there are multiple locations around town) is set in the basement of the splashy Parkview Green shopping mall, which showcases huge public art pieces. The décor is decidedly modern, with sleek wooden panels separating seating areas and whimsical, dumpling-shaped lights overhead. But it's the good service and yummy dumplings that keeps loyal customers coming back. Families are especially welcomed, with a play area set up for kids.
