Hotels in Bergama
There are a couple of bare-bones guest houses in the historic part of town worthy of a mention. The first is the Akropol Guest House (Kurtulus Mah. Kayalik Sok. 5, tel. 0232/631-2621; www.akropolisguesthouse.com), a friendly pension with a bonus swimming pool located on one of Eski Bergama's cobbled lanes. There's a choice of Spartan rooms or updated Spartan suites, and a stone and rafter "cafe" in a barn where guests meet, snack, and drink. The Odyssey Guest House (Talatpasa Mah., Abacihan Sok. 13, tel. 0232/631-3501; www.odysseyguesthouse.com) is more like a B&B, with shared toilets and showers (no separate shower stalls in either the Odyssey or the Akropol) and while friendly, it can get a bit close, given the lack of privacy -- even with your room door closed.
