You’ll find A la Mort Subite in an anonymous street off the main tourist routes. The outside doesn't give much indication of it, but the inside is a riot of art nouveau. Other reasons to come include an extensive beer list from Belgium and beyond, and the bar's association with the singer-songwriter Jacques Brel, its most famous regular. To soak up the beers, some of which hit the 10–11 percent alcohol mark, opt for one of the pies or a plate of chips.
