This century-old corner pub in the heart of San Telmo oozes tango nostalgia and Argentine charm. Dusty bottles line the shelves, old wooden tables and chairs sit on the black-and-white tile floor, and hundreds of drinkers have scratched their names into the bar over the years. That said, it is perhaps not surprising that the crowd can sometimes be a bit touristy, given the bar's evocative atmosphere. Spend the evening people watching, sitting next to a picture window or, better yet, outside on the plaza itself. Stick to a glass of Malbec or the local favorite: Coca-Cola and Fernet Branca ("Fernet con coca").
