With its striking views of the adjacent cathedral, it’s hard to beat the location of Mesón del Cid. While the decor is rather stodgy, everything about the hotel is welcoming and comfortable (the old-style Castilian furnishings are actually newly manufactured). Once the city’s most elegant address, the hotel has been superseded by newer chain properties, but still attracts a steady clientele of pilgrims and Spanish heritage visitors.
