Restaurants in Cannon Beach
On the Oregon coast, seemingly every hotel room has a kitchenette. Which means you could cook your own meals while you watch the waves. For a bottle of wine to take back to your room and enjoy with that meal, stop in at The Wine Shack, 124 N. Hemlock St. (www.thewineshack.wine; 📞 800/787-1765 or 503/436-1100), or Laurel’s Cannon Beach Wine Shop, 263 N. Hemlock St. (📞 503/436-1666). For locally brewed beer, visit Bill’s Tavern & Brewhouse, 188 N. Hemlock St. (📞 503/436-2202).
But this is Cannon Beach, where you’ll find more good restaurants than anywhere else along the coast except Newport and Yachats.

Newman's at 988
The Newman of Newman’s 988 is John, the first chef to put Stephanie Inn on the coastal culinary map. He opened his own fine-dining restaurant in a small yellow cottage in “midtown” Cannon Beach. Part of the experience of a meal here is the presentation, which is less fussy than it…$$$Around Town - Pacific Northwest
Stephanie Inn
The restaurant at the Stephanie Inn provides the most formal fine-dining experience on the North Coast. It’s not for everyone, but if you want a special-occasion restaurant with white linen and attentive service, this is it. (You don’t have to be staying at the inn to dine here, nor…$$$Around Town - Irish/Coffee
The Irish Table & The Sleepy Monk
This little shingle-sided cottage-like building in “midtown” Cannon Beach is a shared-space operation. By day it’s The Sleepy Monk coffee house, where you can get a good organic brew and a pastry to go with it. At night, it becomes The Irish Table, one of Cannon Beach’s best-loved…$$Around Town
