Hotels in Cape Breton Island
Beyond the hotels we give full reviews to, a handful of motels service the thousands of travelers who pass Cheticamp each summer. Laurie's Motor Inn, on Main Street (tel. 800/959-4253 or 902/224-2400), has more than 50 motel rooms and newer suites in a string of buildings situated right in town. The inn also manages some nice rental homes and apartments around town for longer stays; inquire if you're interested in something bigger or need cooking facilities. The Silver Linings Inn & Motel ★ at 15356 Cabot Trail 📞 902/224-1129 is also right in town and offers 7 traditional drive-up motel rooms in the back and 6 rooms of various configurations in the inn, all recently renovated with a tasteful nautical motif. The owners are friendly and happy to help with your visit to the area and serve up a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning.
A number of serviceable cottage courts and motels are located in the Ingonish area. These include Seascape Coastal Retreat at 36083 Cabot Trail (tel. 866/385-3003 or 902/285-3003) offers 10 luxury oceanfront cottages (off a private beach with handsome gardens and a nearby pond). The cottages are roomy and have fireplaces and private decks. Bathrooms are equipped with whirlpool tubs. Home-grown veggies and herbs appear in meals at the restaurant. For outings in the park, ask the kitchen to pack you a picnic lunch. Pets are permitted, but managements says theirfacility is not suitable for children.”- Hotel

Auberge Gisele’s Inn
Gisele’s isn’t for everyone—it has a faux-Italian sensibility, so lots of clashing patterns, and heavy brocade, fuss up the guestrooms. And it’s popular with bus tours, so it can feel crowded. Bras d’Or Lakes Inn
The grounds may be small, but the inn’s location on the St. Peter’s Canal makes up for it, with a dock that provides a lovely spot for quiet contemplation (it’s also a launching place for a kayak or canoe). We also have a soft spot for the rooms: Yes, they too are…$Bras D'Or Lakes - Hotel
Cabot Links Resort
Cabot’s pride-and-joy is its “links course” which is, to many, the purest form of golf.
