Pilot Whale Chalets
Lodgings don’t get more kid friendly than the Pilot Whale. The reception room holds a corner full of toys for the beach and for rainy days, as well as games and movies. The beach lies just out of site beyond a grassy bank. The grounds are rather odd in that the cottages are scattered here and there around a big field that allows little in the way of privacy. But the cottages, while plain from the outside, are fully outfitted for a fun family vacation; full kitchens (plus gas barbeques outside), woodstoves, and decks and nothing you have to worry about damaging. Nine of 10 are 2-bedroom, 1 is a 3-bedroom. Some are outfitted with Jacuzzi and fireplace. Oddly, some of the cottages include two suites, so only take one if you don’t mind sharing the building with other guests.
