Chanthaburi is famous for its noodles, which are called sen chan; you can taste them at any of the food stalls down by the river, along with Vietnamese spring rolls and muu liang, a spicy pork broth. For a wide-ranging menu of Thai and Chinese dishes, such as spicy salads and thick curries, head for Chanthorn Pochana (102/5-8 Benchama-Ratchutit Rd.; tel. 03931-2339). They also serve wines made from local fruits, such as mangosteen, at very cheap prices.
